Return to Hegra
A civilisation vanished in a single night. And one returned to ask why
The Nabataeans disappeared from Hegra, and their facades carved into the rock were left staring into emptiness.
An unknown time later, a masked warrior returns, his eyes a whole night sky, searching for a small golden thing they left behind. Among the valleys and tombs and what has woken inside them, legends stand in his way: creatures from the old tales of Arabia, and storms unlike any storm.
Return to Hegra is a Saudi fantasy with a visual mood that draws on the desert without prettifying it: no cities, no modern people, nothing from our time enters the frame, so the world stays as it should be, ancient, silent and a little frightening.
